Did everybody remember to vote? I dressed as Joe the Plumber for Halloween; my daughter was Sarah Palin. Senator John Kerry was greeting trick-or-treaters at his home, and called my daughter’s costume the scariest one he’d seen all night. Now that the election is over, though, I can get back to work and focus on my own news – first of all, the title of my new book. It’s going to be called VANISHED, and it’ll be out in July or August of next year. I’ll be sending you short updates between now and then, with information about how you can read early excerpts and even win advance copies. In the meantime, though, I’m delighted that people are still talking about POWER PLAY. POWER PLAY is the selection of NECN’s Open Book Club this month; NECN stands for “New England Cable Network,” but you can watch the program online no matter where you live, by clicking here. I discuss the book with hosts Christy Cashman and Debbie DiMasi, blues musician James Montgomery and Boston radio personality (and former state representative) Marjorie Clapprood. The holiday season is almost upon us, and I’ll be meeting readers and signing books at a holiday reception to benefit ReadBoston on Monday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m., in the Esplanade Ballroom of the Hotel Commonwealth. For more information, contact Pierrette Lassiter at ReadBoston, 617-918-5290, or by email at pierrette.lassiter.jcs@cityofboston.gov. I’m already thinking about my own holiday plans, and putting together my holiday card list. If you’d like to receive a holiday card from me (it’s a particularly clever one this year, I think) – or like to have one sent to someone you know, send that person’s full name and mailing address to my assistant, Claire Baldwin, at Claire@josephfinder.com with the subject line “Holiday Card.” And if you need any ideas about what to give your book-loving friends, I’ve made some recommendations for my friends at Levenger (my favorite store). Check them out here. Hope you’re enjoying the autumn, and looking forward to Thanksgiving with family and friends.
Thanks, as always, for your support!
All the best,
Joe Finder
